Game guide: Killing Sims
The Sims 3
A quick way for each death listed is through the use of this mod. The mod article should explain all uses.
Starvation
A quite easy way to kill your Sims is by starving them. To do that, create a small room, usually 5x5 or 4x4, and remove a single wall section, or press Ctrl+Shift+C and then ' moveobjects ' on and move them into the room via cheating. Then make the Sim get inside the room. Close the room with a wall again. After that, just wait some hours and the Sim will die due to starvation! The ghost will be magenta and the grave will have a fork and knife mark on it. This method is good if you don't like spending your Sims' money, but if you really want a faster method, don't do that. It can also be achieved by cheating. Type Ctrl+Shift+C, and then type in the console window that appears testingCheatsEnabled true, exactly like that. Then drag+click the Hunger need bar fully down. The Sim should die instantly.
Drowning
This is a very fast method to kill your Sims! To do that, simply, create a small pool, usually around 3x3 or 4x4, and make a Sim enter into the pool. Then build walls around it. Sims then will swim for some hours, until they will get the Drowning moodlet, and after 40 minutes in-game pass, the Sim will drown. The Sim will probably drown faster if it has the Fatigued moodlet. The ghost will be blue and the grave will have a drowning Sim symbol on it. This method is good in case you want a very fast way to kill your Sims, but it can cost a lot of simoleons.
Alternatively, if you do not want to spend that much time, you can have the Sim work out and when the Sim has the fatigued moodlet, make the Sim swim, the Sim will die in 30 minutes game time. You will have to block the way out of the pool here as well.
Electrocution
Electrocuting Sims is a very interesting way to kill them! Several methods have been suggested. One of them includes creating a Sim with the Technophobetrait, then make the Sim sabotage a TV placed on tiles. After that, the player must make the Sim pee on the tiles, and then making the Sim repair the TV with low skill on the resulting puddle. This will cause electrocution at the first time. At the second time, the Sim will die. Another way is to first build a floor in your yard and place a sprinkler near it to create a puddle, then buy a stereo or TV and have your Sim upgrade it. These are good methods in case you enjoy killing your Sims very slowly and painfully, but if you are worried about how much simoleons you'll spend, this isn't your method.
Fire
Fire is a painful disaster in The Sims series, and possibly the best-known cause of death. To trigger death by fire, make a Sim prepare waffles. Wait until the Sim bakes them but not fully or just wait until you see that its cooking. Now, create a small room, usually 3x3 or 2x3, remove a wall section and make the Sim enter. Now add that wall section again, so that the Sim is trapped into the room. Move the oven into the room. Add loads of chairs to block the Sim's way to the oven and spread the fire. The fire will start when you see some kind of black smoke. Wait until it gets to the Sim. When the fire gets to him/her, he/she will get "On Fire" moodlet (-200 mood), and after and hour or so (three for Daredevils and Pyromaniacs), the Sim will die. The ghost will be red and the grave will have a fire mark on it. This is a good and interesting method to kill a Sim, especially for storytellers, but it can end up to be a very expensive way of killing.
You can also place a rug under the fireplace, and start the fire in the fireplace. That will cause a fire to start. You can then have the Sim get next to the flames and catch fire. You can also have the Sim poke the fire, eventually causing the Sim to catch on fire.
Even starting up a grill inside a room, and then canceling the grilling process can result in a deadly fire. Lightning a firework inside the house would also cause fire.
Old Age
Definitely the cheapest method of all (die for free with a free tombstone!). To kill a Sim by old age, simply wait until their lifespan finishes. The ghost will be white and the grave will have an hourglass mark on it. To trigger that by cheating, type Ctrl+Shift+C, then type in the console window that appears testingcheatsenabled true, exactly like that. Then Shift+Click the Sim, then choose "Trigger Age Transition", as many times as needed until the Sim dies. This method costs nothing, but really takes loads of time and patience.
Mummy's Curse
This is only possible with World Adventures installed. Killing a Sim by mummy's curse is very difficult, but it is still very fun to watch. To kill a Sim by the mummy's curse, make them go to Al Simhara, Egypt, where you can find loads of mummies. If you are (un)lucky enough, your Sim will be cursed. After 2 weeks (14 days) without being cured, your Sim will die. The ghost will be golden brown. A black smoke will also surround the ghost's head and there will be a mummy mark on the grave. This is a good method for players who love stories about ancient history and storytellers who want to spice up their story, but it is very difficult to achieve.
Remember, a Sarcophagus will only spawn a mummy once. It is also difficult for Sims with a high Athletic or Martial Arts skill to die this way, as they will usually defeat the mummy, and therefore will not become cursed.
Meteor
This is only possible with Ambitions installed. The chances of being hit by a meteor are 4% when using the telescope outdoors, 2% when just using a random object outdoors, and 1% when just walking down the street. The ghost will be orange and the grave will have a falling meteor mark on it. Before a meteor lands ominous music will play and and a message will appear saying the Sim is wondering why it got so dark. There is an option to make the Sim move out of the way before the meteor lands or leave them to their doom. This method is definitely the best for storytellers, but it happens just very randomly and cannot be triggered.
With the buydebug cheat a germinator can be bought and placed in the desired location, but while this should increase the probability of a Sim being clashed by a meteor, it doesn't seem to have any impact.
If Seasons is installed, killing Sims by meteor can be fairly easy if an alien is in the household. Since they can summon meteors at will, if they choose to summon them in a crowded place such as a school or a park, the chances of hitting a Sim or multiple Sims is very high.
Thirst
This is only possible with either Late Night or Supernatural. This is similar to Starvation above, but with vampires they will have the thirst need instead of the hunger one. Follow the same steps as above, and you'll get this right! If you leave your vampire to thirst (starving) first your vampire will turn into ashes and die.The ghost of the vampire will be black with a red pulsing heart and the grave will have a bat mark on it.This is one beautiful methods to use ever, but as explained above, sadly a time wasting one. As above in the death by hunger section, you can enter testingcheatsenabled true and drag the thirst need to empty as a quick way to kill a vampire. Another quick way is to get your vampire in the sun for a long time, and they will get the 'Too Much Sun' moodlet. While active, your Sim's thirst will plummet dramatically. Just lock them in a room without a roof after getting the moodlet and wait, death soon follows. This method will only work with Vampire Sims, and a normal Sim will die by Starvation instead.
Haunting Curse
A sim can die by haunting curse in the Supernatural. The ghost of a sim who died from haunting curse is green, with skulls flying around him. The way to make a sim die by haunting curse:
Create a witch/warlock,
Cast spells until you'll see a red moodlet with a picture of wand,
Cast the curse "Haunting Curse",
You'll see that the sim will appear a Blackish Green color
Cowplant
The cowplant, which can be purchased at The Sims 3 Store, will have a birthday cake on his tongue after 3 days without food. A sim who will try to interact with it would be eaten.
Jelly Bean plant
The Jelly Bean Plant is an interesting way to kill your sims. In order to achieve this death, simply have your sim eat too many Jelly Beans from the Jelly Bean Plant.
The ghost will be purple with blue hair and highlights around the body.
Transmutation Accident
A Sim may be turned into gold when using the Philosopher's Stone. The ghost is gold, and it will also leave a gold statue that is worth §50,000 to §62,500. One may exploit this by having a Sim with either a Death Flower (or either the Unlucky trait or the Loser trait) use the Philosopher's Stone for extended periods of time.
Freezing
You can only kill Sims this way if The Sims 3: Seasons is installed. You can make the temperature low by using cheats, or do this in the winter. If the temperature is low enough and the Sim is standing outside, (preferably in Swimwear,) first they will get a moodlet called "Getting Chilly." This means your Sim is moderatley cold. After about 3 hours they will get a moodlet called "Teeth Chattering." This means your Sim will be very cold. Be careful now, because if they are in any other outfit, they will try to change into their Outerwear. Soon your sim will get Frostbite, and after 3 hours they will Freeze Solid. If the hunger need completely delpetes, they'll die. The Sim's Ghost will be very light blue, and their clothes and hair will be teal.
Spontaneous Combustion
If Seasons is installed, you can die this way. Make a Sim relax on a lounge chair during Summer. Soon they will have a moodlet called "Getting Warm." This will have no mood effect. Slight warmth is followed by the moodlet "Starting to Sweat," and then "Sweating Profusely." Your Sim will eventually spontaneously combust, and if someone doesn't extinguish them soon enough, they will die. The ghost will be orange with flames inside them.
Lightning Strike
If Seasons is installed, you can kill Sims this way. It is a very hard method, though, because it requires waiting outside in a heavy storm. It is also very rare for Sims to get struck by lightning, especially twice. First, it has to have a heavy storm outside, and you have a better chance of being stuck by lightning when holding a parosol or umbrella. Wait outside for a while, and if the storm doesn't clear up, they will eventually be struck by lightning. This will only effect them by giving them the Singed moodlet. You will have to have your Sim get struck by lightning twice for them to die from it. After this happens, your Sim will die. It will still say they died from electrocution, and their ghost will be yellow with electricity on them.
Murphy Bed
The Murphy bed appeared in The Sims 3: University Life can accidently crush a sims to die, similar to the way it works in The Sims 2. A Sim who survives a crush by the Murphy bed will get the Murphy Bed Clinophobia moodlet that will last for 6 hours, and during the time they have it they won't be able to close or pull down a Murphy bed.
Instant-death (bug from World Adventure's travelling)
If World Adventures and Pets are installed, you can kill (your) sims this way. Just send him/her on a travel, then while still in hometown in the Taxi's car, try to "wash" one of your cats/dogs. The sim will stop and leave the car, thus the game still sends the taxi outside, and loads the vacation place without the sim. You'll have to wait for the vacation time to be spent without the died sim, so remember to have more than one in a travel at a time : you will have to wait for some in-game days without actually playing. No ghost and no graves for this death, but the other sims will still complain.
